Ex Gangbangers Take Part in the New Green Job Craze

Cashing in on the green movement, ex-convicts are capturing taxpayer dollars in Los Angeles, courtesy of nonprofit “Homeboy Industries”.

What better way for them to scope out their next victim than crawling around on rooftops installing solar panels.

The Los Angeles Unified School District plans to start hiring some graduates of the program to install 50 megawatts of solar power on its campuses. “Being former gang members doesn’t preclude them from building a career in solar technology,” says Veronica Soto, a school-district director.

Message to the clueless Veronica- I agree that former gang bangers should be able to start a career in anything. But it SHOULD disqualify them from GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS! Why should ex-gang bangers (who likely paid ZERO taxes their entire life) be rewarded with government work when there are LAW ABIDING, TAXPAYING citizens that can do the job? But I guess rewarding our own ex-convicts is better than the ones we allow to cross our border and break our laws.

ABSOLUTELY ABSURD. We can’t fund our schools adequately. We allow taxpayer dollars to go to ex-convicts. We overtax and overburden the productive while rewarding the unproductive.
