Kanye West - Money cannot buy a brain, tact, or decency. But it can buy a total jackass.

Kanye West is definitely a good producer. This lends himself well as an artist, as people naturally gravitate to catchy tunes and beats. But with regard to two things he so desperately wants to be good at - #1 a rapper (by choice) and #2 a good person (by human nature), he is absolutely atrocious. And by most anyone’s standards, that means he sucks.

One of the first public clues to the absurdity of Kanye West occurred when the great Ashton Kutcher punk’d him. During this Punk, Kanye remarked that he had to get to “Parii”. Ashton quickly noted that “Parii was rich-person talk for Paris”. Kanye = the type of person Dave Chappelle would say shouldn’t have money.

Then Kanye, during a televised benefit to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, stated that “George Bush doesn’t care about black people”. Oh really? Perhaps that is why George Bush, by himself, provided more money, attention, and results for AIDS in Africa than any other President or country in history.

Under the Bush administration, more than 2 million people infected with HIV—most of them in Africa—have received lifesaving anti-retroviral treatment as part of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, or PEPFAR. (source: CNN)

And now we have Kanye West stealing Taylor Swift’s show with outrageous commentary that Beyonce’s video was better. Even if it was, #1) that is not the way it was voted, and #2) get the fuck off the stage you moron, it isn’t your place. Kanye previously “stage-bombed the 2006 MTV Europe Awards and declared, ‘If I don’t win, the awards show loses credibility.’”.

Why do we allow an individual like Kanye West the opportunity to take advantage of the First Amendment? Probably the same reason we slow down to look at car crashes.

Interestingly enough, President Obama called Kanye West a jackass off the record:

ABC reporter Terry Moran wrote on Twitter that he overheard President Obama refer to West as a “jackass” during a Monday interview with CNBC, but it was apparently off the record, and ABC removed the post and issued an apology to CNBC and the White House. (source: LA Times)

If this is true, even as a staunch supporter of limited government, I will officially move President Obama up one notch. And he will be at notch 1.

So make if official President Obama. Even if this is some lame MTV production, it does have ramifications for our youth. Shut Kanye down! Give him the veto!
