President Obama signed the $787 economic “stimulus” bill today in Denver, Colorado, continuing Bush’s spending legacy. No change here people.

Obama’s remarks:

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act that I will sign today, a plan that meets the principles I laid out in January, is the most sweeping economic recovery package in our history. It is the product of broad consultations—and the recipient of broad support—from business leaders, unions and public interest groups, the Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Manufacturers, Democrats and Republicans, mayors as well as governors. This is not a stimulus plan by any means. Nor did it receive broad support.

The government rushed this past the American people because they knew that it was full of pork (despite Obama’s claim that it had none). Our country is bankrupt, and the government continues to insist that spending is the solution to everything.

If a taxpaying citizen has flat wage growth and is in debt, can they spend their way out? Absolutely not. Who are these so-called experts that believe spending will stimulate the economy and pull us out of recession? An expert with an agenda is just another scammer.

It is not the role of government to bail out companies and institutions, spend money they don’t have, and intervene with the free market because they “want to create more jobs”. Creating a job to dig a hole and one to fill it does not equal productivity. With massive debt ($1.2 trillion this year, before “porkulus”), we are forced to sell vast amounts of treasuries to foreign nations. Even if there is a slight uptick in the economy, our long term position has not changed.

We’ve forever changed the perception of what is “big”. Senator Inhofe said it well during a smackdown of Congress.

Mark my words- when GDP numbers come out, the Obama Apostles will spin them in their favor and work the media to try and convince the American people that Obama is a genius and that his plan worked beautifully. Any knowledgeable person will understand this fraud.

GDP means nothing because government spending is a component.

Creating shit jobs + ballooning our debt + eroding the dollar + selling America to foreign nations != stimulus.

We needed an economic cycle. We got more of the same.
