It is always refreshing to hear someone in Washington making some sense with a little limited government talk.
From Senator Thune, a Republican from South Dakota:
There are just basic sort of common sense principles that I think make sense and that people understand. One is that you can’t spend money you don’t have; two is, when you borrow money, you have to pay it back. (source: CNN)
I like that he mentions how the $300 billion in unspent TARP funds could go towards national debt, but even that huge amount is a drop in the bucket.
