Semantics for the So Called Conservative

I recently had a conversation with a young individual who took the position that the Republican party is comprised primarily of those on the far right. He also stated the number of pro-lifers in his argument.

This couldn’t be further from the truth:
1. Taking a pro-life position doesn’t mean that one actually is pro-life. (we have tons of floppers on both sides)
2. Being pro-life does not make one a conservative.
3. The Democrats have been hijacked by the far left (ie: Reid, Pelosi, Boxer, etc) and the Republicans have been hijacked by neocons. They both suck.

The media and the left have hijacked the term “conservative” and rebranded it in a negative manner. There is a large % of people, especially young people, that will immediately dismiss a so-called conservative because of their knee-jerk reaction to the term. They think that a “conservative” wants to tell them what they can and can’t do. A real conservative believes in the opposite - less government involvement, individual liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

The phrase “limited government” will never confuse. Less is more! Those of us that wish to escape the over-reaching grasp the two major parties have facilitated must update our lexicon and spread the word around!
