Ted Kennedy’s Argument For Princess Caroline - She Has Money

princess caroline kennedy

According to the NY Times and Democratic aides, Ted Kennedy’s argument to appoint the $100 million dollar Princess Caroline Schlossberg Kennedy as NY Senator is that she “would have the wherewithal to run back-to-back costly statewide races without having to seek help from Mr. Paterson or Mr. Schumer.” (source)

This sense of entitlement is sickening. Her qualifications are her name and her money? Well we have shown that it is indeed pay to play in politics today.

So although it’s audacious, Ted certainly does have a point. If Gov. Paterson wants to appoint someone that has a realistic shot to win the next battle, Princess Caroline certainly has the wherewithal Kennedy network and money to do so. Her royal name would allow her to refrain from taking major resources from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

This is a perfect example of the two party system pulling a fast one on the American people.

We rejected the British because we believed in something greater. In America, one’s name is not a requirement to achieve anything. As American citizens and taxpayers, we must reject this sense of entitlement. Do we really need any more wealthy elites in Congress?
